General Tips and Reminders
- Double check your car before leaving for the track- fluids, spares, tools, change of clothes, everything you need for a day at the track.
- Never use the parking/handbrake after a session on hot rotors, use wheel chocks instead- a block of wood works in a pinch.
- Warm up and cool down always, spend an appropriate amount of laps warming up AND cooling down the car.
- Monitor tire pressures regularly, bleed air if pressures rise 5+ psi.
- Check your mirrors regularly. Faster car behind? Lift and point them by.
- Learn from your neighbors- the paddock is where half the learning happens.
- Drive your pace- you can’t win a track day. Nobody remembers the slow driver, but everyone remembers the one on the roof.
